Every day, even under maintenance or lousy weather, our Eastern Shore suffers without a 3rd bay bridge. Two vital arteries feed and supply every business, home, and school. An hour delay that makes up nearly 6 miles causes folks to be late for deliveries, miss events, and hurts our communities. This span of 2-3 miles is included in the 3 miles of back up because each span is reduced to two or three lanes. Our goal is to provide four lanes that span on each side of a new Bay Bridge.
As we invest in building new infrastructure, we must transition to 100% clean energy and do so through innovative technologies and infrastructure. This not only stimulates the economy, but it ensures that we work towards a sustainable future and 100% clean and renewable energy.
Being a Marylander also means supporting legislation to Invest in America. We know Harris voted against our Communities for Public Transportation on Rail, Roads, Tolls, HOV, and Bridges on July 1, 2020.
We know this the only infrastructure you have of state important that is this vital for traveling to or from the shore. Therefore, we must make it of national importance and not a burden on the state budget to make a decision.
We understand this bill will do a lot to reinvest into America. Our vital arteries of transit for highway roads, rail, and bridges need replacement or repairs to make them fully accessible with ADA standards because more communities are self-driving, self mobile, and working. We would propose grants for the 3rd Bay Bridge, Amtrak, and other national arteries to be protected that serve our communities, businesses, and tourists.
